The maximum diameter of fiberglass storage tanks can reach 25000 millimeters, with a corresponding volume of 5000 cubic meters.
GRP/FRP storage tank
Fiberglass/FRP storage tanks consist of three layers.
1. Wires
The inner layer thickness is ≤ 5mm, which serves as an internal support and sealing partition. It is made of anti-corrosion resin with good toughness, high elongation, and low curing shrinkage rate. It is usually a rich resin layer composed of polyester surface felt and lining resin, with a resin content of>90%, and is an anti-seepage and anti-corrosion layer.
2. Strengthen the hierarchy
It is also known as the support layer, and the reinforcement layer is made by fiber winding technology. Its thickness depends on factors such as diameter, pressure, and safety factor. It uses alkali free and untwisted fiberglass winding yarn to infiltrate the structural resin, and then winds it into hoops and cross combinations. The resin content is 25% -40%, and its function is to withstand various stresses and external loads. The wall thickness is determined by our company's designers referring to the technical specifications and engineering drawings provided by your company, using Italian imported software and databases, and based on the design specifications of fiber entangled fiberglass reinforced plastics. The hoop stress, axial stress, and bending Poisson's ratio are calculated reasonably and scientifically to determine the wall thickness.
3. Surface layer
Its thickness is about 0.5mm, and the surface layer is anti-aging, anti ultraviolet and anti foreign matter penetration. The resin content is more than 90%. When the last two layers are wound, an outer protective layer is made. The outer protective layer is an outer rich resin layer with large resin content. At the same time, UV-9 ultraviolet absorber and anti-aging agent are added to the resin.
