Storage precautions for fiberglass sand filled pipelines

Fiberglass sand filled pipes have the advantages of light weight, high strength, low resistance to liquid transportation, good chemical and electrical corrosion resistance, long service life, low overall cost, and are also environmentally friendly materials strongly advocated by the country; And the pipeline does not require special anti-corrosion treatment, with a longer length compared to cast iron and cement pipes, and relatively fewer joints, which in turn reduces installation and maintenance costs. So what are the storage requirements for fiberglass sand filled pipelines? Let's take a look together below.
(1) Fiberglass sand filled pipes should be transported to the corresponding work area upon arrival at the site for immediate construction. If construction cannot be carried out immediately due to uncontrollable factors, the pipes should be stored safely. Pipes should not be stored in the open air for a long time to prevent exposure to ultraviolet radiation.
(2) Double lifting points are used during the lifting process of pipes, and it is strictly prohibited to use ropes to penetrate both ends; And use finished lifting straps, steel wire ropes are not allowed for lifting.
(3) The auxiliary connection materials of GRP sand pipe mainly include glass fiber yarn, chopped felt, glass fiber cloth and other reinforcement materials, resin, curing agent, accelerator, anti-aging agent and other matrix materials, as well as various mastics. These materials must be properly stored in a dry place without direct sunlight. Rubber rings should be protected from sunlight and kept away from heat sources, and should not come into contact with oils and organic solvents. Pipelines and fittings should be classified and stacked according to type, specification, and grade. Soft padding should be added between layers to keep them away from heat sources and flammable and explosive materials. They should not be stored outdoors for a long time to prevent exposure to sunlight.
(4) When fiberglass reinforced plastic sand pipes are stored directly on the ground, the ground should be flat. It is strictly prohibited to store pipelines on sharp hard objects, and wooden wedges should be added to the stacked pipelines to prevent rolling.
(5) Fiberglass sand filled pipes should be stacked away from heat sources and open flames.
(6) Fiberglass sand filled pipes should be stored according to their specifications. Each layer should be padded with sleepers, and the spacing between sleepers should be less than half the length of the pipe. The height of pipeline stacking shall not exceed 2 meters, and pipelines above DN1400 shall not be stacked.
